What is Odd Fellowship

WHAT IS ODD FELLOWSHIP

A simple explanation would be that Odd Fellowship is a Fraternal Organization, based on the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man. It does charitable work on various projects in the community. Through its teachings and ceremonies, it seeks to elevate the character of man, and thereby make this world a better place in which to live. It should be clear that Odd Fellowship is not a religion. Odd Fellowship only requires that no man or woman may become an Odd Fellow or Rebekah unless he or she believes in a Supreme Being, the Creator and Preserver of the Universe, and is loyal to their country.

Odd Fellowship is a family orientated, fraternal organization that provides social and economic structure. The basic structure teaches Friendship, Love and Truth and can be a philosophy of life.

Individual Odd Fellow and Rebekah Lodges located throughout the state meet weekly or twice a month to carry on the business of the lodge. They follow a general agenda, which includes opening ceremony, general business activities, and “Good of the Order” criteria. They establish programs, contacts and friendships that develop into the duties to perform the commands of the order: “to visit the sick, bury the dead, relieve the distressed and educate the orphan”. Each lodge has its own by-laws and lodge image to identify them.
